Parent Management Committee

Coogee Care Centre is run by families, for families.

This means 100% of your fees go back into running the high quality care service you expect.

Our Centre is led by a Parent Management Committee, made up of Executive members and General Committee Members. The volunteer parent committee, meet during the school year, and support the team of highly-qualified and experienced educators.

Can you help?

Our team are skilled carers and great with your kids. But there are lots of pieces to running a good Centre and business.

We often need help, with some mini jobs that require special skills.

As a NFP service, all profits go back into the Centre. We can continue to deliver more and grow when parents like you can volunteer a little time and your skills.

We need you!

  • Graphic Designer - refresh our templates and brand colours

  • Photographer or Videographer - help us showcase the Centre, our kids and our team. Can you spare a few hours, to take quality images of the service?

  • Employment & Contract Lawyers

  • Handyperson - small jobs come up sometimes. - can you help repair the Mural? or hang some shelves?

  • HR contact for guidance and advice.

  • Artists

  • Sports coach

  • Know your way around Technology? or understand Microsoft

What’s involved?

Volunteer

General Committee members meet once a term to make decisions in support of the Centre’s strategic direction. The Exec are responsible for supporting the Management of the Centre, and meet more regularly.

 

Contribute

We represent the Parent Voice to the Leadership, considering changes to processes and policies and how these affect our Families.

 
 

Mentor

Supporting the Leadership with running of the business, delivering messages to the community and mentoring senior staff.

 
 
 

Skillshare

Coogee parents bring together a rich tapestry of skills, knowledge, and special interests. We are in need of Specialists for short-term projects to help the team deliver great outcomes.

FAQs

  • This area is a work in progress

  • Without a committee, the Association is unable to operate. Families of Coogee Public School need outside of school hours care for our children. If Coogee care Centre cannot operate, the school offers the service to tender, following DOE guidelines. The service will likely be contracted to a private OOSH operator.

  • All committees have a president, (sometimes referred to as a chairperson), Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer and a Public Officer.

    At Coogee Care, we also nominate a member to be Staff Liason, support with Communications, assist in reviewing contracts, and the Centre Policy and Procedures.

  • To aid the Centre’s director, in the smooth running of the organisation and to oversee the operation of the service and ensure that all members of the service have a chance to play an active part in the committee and that everyone feels informed and included.

    The president will be in regular contact with the Centre’s directors to keep up to date with all the Centre’s activities.

    Be available to offer assistance to is the Centre’s directors whenever they need it.

    The President also has a good understanding of the Centre’s constitution. Be available to chair all general & committee meetings, ensuring that they are run efficiently and effectively.

    The President works collaboratively with other Committee Members and if the president is not able to attend any meetings the vice-president may step in to chair any meeting

  • The vice-president’s role is similar to the president’s role, work hand in hand with the Centre’s director and preside over meeting when required.

  • The treasurer oversees the financial administration of the centre and ensures that the centre’s Financial affairs are conducted correctly and efficiently

  • The secretary is the key administration officer of the service. The secretary handles the records, correspondence and other communications.

    This includes setting meetings and agenda, keeping minutes, and a record of all committee members.
